Sharing enjoyable places to drive in NSW
Welcome driver! Getting bored on the Freeway? Think that the 60km/h limit on the Old Pacific Highway north from Brooklyn is a crying shame? Then this site is for you. We're going to bring you enjoyable places to drive in NSW.
By 'enjoyable' we mean the twisty stuff. If you believe that you've paid for the whole tyre and should use it, sidewalls included, then you'll be at home. Here you will find the sort of road where there's no chance you're going to fall asleep.
Thanks to the magic of Google Maps, we'll give you details of locations where you can still have some (legal) fun (with your pants on). There's a separate page for each run with a link to the relevant map and some useful comments. Each page has a link to a weather site that will give you local conditions. There's also a news section for each run where we'll post the most up to date info we have on 'things' to look out for.
Safety
In case you haven't had a looked recently, it's $1642 for in excess of 45 km/h over the limit. MINIMUM!! That's a lot of petrol or most of a decent set of rubber you've wasted.
You should also remember that "If police catch you speeding by more than 45km/h over the limit you may have your licence immediately suspended and confiscated at the roadside for 6 months." Yep. Lockup the baby, leave her at the side of the road and the nice policeman will drive you down to the station. On the trip to the station, think about what you're going to tell the wife/girlfriend... oh yeah... and the boss why you're no longer able to drive.
Have a look at the rest of the fines. Remember them when you're feeling a bit frisky.
OK. With those sobering thoughts in mind. There are still places where you can stay within the speed limit and enjoy a drive. On the left hand side you'll find a list of the locations we've found and the juicy details.
This site is brand spanking. We're not sure of the format to best present the relevant details so it might change a bit over the next few months. Feel free to drop us a line with any suggestions on how to improve the site and locations we've missed.
Sponsorship
We're on the lookout for sponsors! Performance motoring 'shop? Tourist location, cafe' or B&B on one of these roads? We attract your kind of customers. Drop us an email for information on our sponsorship options.
